A healthier Detroit is better for everyone. But what does it mean to be healthy?
Wellness Works is a resource developed in collaboration between businesses, chambers of commerce, and community organizations who have a goal to build a healthier workforce and improve the well-being of their communities. Progress towards this goal and the region's overall health will be measured by the region’s ranking in the Gallup-Sharecare Well-Being Index.
The Well-Being Index measures Americans' perceptions of their lives through five elements: physical health, financial security, relationship to community, sense of purpose, and social relationships. Detroit’s ranking in the Index is currently lagging behind our peer nations and Wellness Works’ goal is to move Detroit into the top half of national performance through collaborative efforts between business and community.
